Abstract
The author begins by presenting the circumstances of the creation of the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum in Görlitz and collecting a valuable collection of coins and medals in it. Then he relates his fate during World War II and in the post-war years. Based on preserved archives, it presents the circumstances of the numismatic collection falling into the hands of Security Service officers and the subsequent efforts of the Ministry of Culture to recover them. In conclusion, he presents what is currently known about the behavior of this numismatic collection.
