Anioł księstwa żagańskiego w herbie księcia Wallensteina i jego geneza. Przyczynek do heraldycznej symboliki księstw śląskich
[Angel of the Duchy of Żagań in the coat of arms of Prince Wallenstein and his genesis. A contribution to the heraldic symbolism of the Silesian principalities]
s. 101–115; pp. 101–115
At the beginning, the author presents the circumstances in which Wallenstein obtained from Emperor Ferdinand II the principality of Żagań in 1628. Then he discusses the heraldry of this principality. The autor publishes “Ferdinand I’s Privilege for the Żagań States of June 23, 1559”, under which the motif of an angel entered the coat of arms of the principality. The author analyzes the role of Wallenstein in giving the angel motif the role of one of the two main (next to the golden lion in the blue field) elements of the coat of arms of the Duchy of Żagań.
